A bit like her Daddy...

Grandbaby went ice skating for the first time yesterday.  She wanted to do it herself.  Each time she got on her own feet, she fell.  She was laughing so hard that it was difficult to get back up again.  It was such a blessing to watch her try and try again.

A Reason to Smile

It was so much fun hosting 18 dear friends for a Valentine's Day Dinner. The best part for me was setting the table.  I bought pink and red heart salad plates to sit on new white dinner plates. Desert, the most important part of a Valentine dinner, was Pudding Chomeur Cakes.  I used a recipe from House and Home Magazine.  The recipe came from the Chef Martin Picard's Au Pied de Cochon restaurant in Montreal. I enjoyed preparing something very out of the ordinary. All in all, it was nice to have a project for a couple days. It gave me a reason to smile....

A Season of Loss

I am told that I am experiencing a "season of loss".  The past six months have been difficult and filled with much loss and sorrow.  Taking blog pictures and writing has not been important or even possible much of the time.  Making dinner is confusing. "What is it that I make for dinner?" comes to mind in the grocery store. Grieving is not something done publicly and it is not taught in school. How to grieve properly is the question on my mind. Days that I am not sad come with a sense of guilt.  I desire the Spring and the hope of newness. When will this Winter end?

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas! We are having a delightful day today watching movies by the fire and about to eat crablegs for dinner.
