Precious Son rarely stays still long enough to get a picture for blogging. Between college classes and working at a local bookstore, he is one busy guy. His new passion is his "fixie" bike. He went to the local flea market and found the perfect bike to make into his "fixie". At the time, I didn't know that this bike would have the brakes removed from it! Of course, he could not be the only one of his friends who would put brakes on their bike. Who would have thought that brakes are so uncool? Anyway, after one threatened ticket for running a stop sign and a friend who was run over by two other "fixie" bikes, he is enjoying the thrill of it all. I am always just a bit relieved when his friends plan a long ride and Son has to work.
Darling Husband and I were alone on New Years Eve! We had a massage at Happy Feet and then came home to a crab leg dinner. It was the perfect way to start the New Year. My brother sent us some pears from Harry and David's. I baked them and made a custard to pour over the top. They were just right after our dinner. Being asleep well before midnight is a high priority! A wonderful end to a very good year.
Christmas morning at our house was filled with so much love and fun. It was great to see Grandbaby enjoy her new toys. She was a bit confused as to why her Mommy kept giving her new toys but she seemed to deal with it ok. Auntie came to visit and we always love seeing her. Just wish she lived closer to us. Our time with her is precious. Darling boys played on the new slackline until they were worn out completely. I am blessed with my family and friends.
Four of the ones I love..... Grandbaby is sick! While Papa is hunting deer in Kansas, the rest of the clan came to watch "Elf" and have a fire with me. Baby has a fever and cold. We are hoping she will be well for Christmas. Presents are wrapped and we are ready for Santa to bring Baby her gifts. This is a wonderful time of year!
Merry Christmas All,
After a rather long absence, I am back. It seems after a 2 week bout
of flu, then Thanksgiving, refinishing hardwood floors in our home and
then rushing into the preparations for Christmas, I just could not get
to my blog. Most of the shopping is now done and the home fires are
lit. I am so blessed to have this darling grandbaby who thrills me everyday.
If this doesn't make me want to buy a pony for baby, then I don't know what will. Her Dad and Mom had so much fun with her on her first pony ride. Once she got on, it was all smiles. Smiles until the scary pumpkin patch, that is. Baby can be very happy one minute and in tears the next. She reminds me of someone I know...
