A LAVENDER FARM LUCHEON

Today could not have been more lovely.  Darling Daughter, grandbaby and I went to luncheon at the Pageo Lavender Farm. Along the way, we picked up my sister- in- law and mother- in- law.
Mother-in-law's 92 year old sister joined us with her daughter and daughter-in-law.  Lots of "in-laws" and so much fun.  A girls day out is just what we all longed for.

Beach Towels in the Library

I am collecting beach towels/goggles for our local Foster Youth.  Who knew how pretty a stack of towels tied with ribbon could look?  To date we have about 60 and are looking for about 90 more.  The bright colors of towels just look like summer to me.

First Fruits and a Canoe

It may be just a touch of a reach to put the first zucchini and the canoe on the same page but if you think about it for a minute...... this is the first canoe that has been built here.  The men really did it!  I mean, they built a canoe in our barn.  It is art, it is beautiful.  Really, it is.

A GRAND PUDDLE

Another rainy day in the Central Valley.  Grand baby found the best puddle and off she went to explore it with her new puppy. I don't remember ever feeling such abandon!

Pretty

A quick walk through the garden before it starts to rain again.  Since everything has just been deadheaded after the first bloom, it is slim pickings out there.  I managed to get a pretty bouquet of yellow and peach. I pulled out an old blue vase that was a gift long ago from my sister-in-law. Pretty.....

Dear Friend

I am grieving.  My sweet girl is gone.  There is a hole here now that is palpable.  Bailey was my friend and I miss her. Three dogs was always crazy and there were so many times that I thought how nice one or even two would be.  Three was just perfect, it turns out.  I miss her so....

A SAD DAY

Today we had to put our dear dog to sleep.  It was such a hard day.  Sometimes I think that sadness follows me around for too long.  I go to the garden and I can breath again. There is always comfort in my gardens.  This too shall pass, I know, but today is a sad day.
