Baby doves and a bunny

The garden bunny really enjoys this time of year. He has so much freedom playing outside in the sunshine.

Baby doves were born today. They are so small and delicate. I hope they will be okay. One more thing to be concerned about!

Sweet Peas

A couple hours of gardening were rewarded by a fistful of sweetpeas. They look so dear in an old silver vase, from who knows where. Such a small gift offering a huge aroma. Heaven must smell lovely.

Darling Husband

I often wonder how it came to be that I could be so blessed with this adorable man as my husband. He is such a friend to me. I am amazed by his loyality and desire to be the best version of himself.

I meant to do my work today....

" I meant to do my work today, but a brown bird sang in the apple tree

and a butterfly flitted across the field. And all the leaves were calling me.

And the wind went sighing over the land, tossing the grasses to and fro,

and a rainbow held out its shining hand, so what could I do but laugh and

go? " Richard LeGallienne

Precious Girl

This just might be the cutest baby nursery that I have ever seen! Everyone says that having grandchildren is the best, but truly the awaking of new love and tenderness amazes me everyday. Our children are blessing us, Darling Husband and me.

Sweet Retirement

Last summer our darling Bailey went blind. It happened very quickly. She is now a couch dog.
It seems that this is really okay with Bailey, so it's okay with us. She is still a dear girl and we love her, so sweet retirement it is.

Dreaming of England

Today I started thinking about our trip that we will take this summer to England.
The gardens always amaze me. I have never been to another place where people love
to garden as much. There is something about an English garden that really inspires.
And, a trip to England is never complete without a stop to enjoy tea and crumpets. Darling husband never knew how much he loved tea and crumpets until he tasted them in Chipping Campden, England. What a delightful memory.

Across the Street

The orchard across the street is really beautiful right now. We are not farmers but have the added joy of living on 3 acres in the middle of hundreds of acres of peaches, almonds and table grapes. It is the perfect place to take a walk. Our dogs
are thrilled at the prospect of an orchard walk.

Secret Garden

Darling husband and I enjoy eating lunch out in the Secret Garden. While in England
two years ago, I couldn't sleep because of jet lag. So, of course, a gardening magazine kept me company late one night and the Secret Garden came to mind. Darling husband holds his breath just a little when I say "I have an idea". But, this one turned out to be a place that we both enjoy.

Lady Banks Rose

The Lady Banks Rose is so beautiful to enjoy while it is in full bloom. You must
appreciate it as it only gives one show per year. The white one by the chicken coop
is having a tough year as it fell over during a winter wind storm. It got seriously pruned and put back up. Hopefully next year we will get to enjoy the show of white roses.

Pretty Camellia

When the camellias bloom it gives me hope for the future garden.
They seem to let on that the garden will be in full bloom very
soon. I love to cut a couple white ones and put them in a blue
and white Royal Copenhagen bowl.
